FULL JOB DESCRIPTION

As the Mandarin Early Years Teacher at Les Petites Etoiles Bilingual Montessori, you’ll exclusively use Mandarin when speaking to children aged 6 months to 4 years, teaching language immersion through play-based activities, daily interactions, and Montessori classroom materials while maintaining administrative records including observations, weekly parent diaries, and bi-annual typed reports. This full-time role at their West Hampstead nursery requires fluent Mandarin speakers passionate about early childhood education, offering up to 7 weeks paid holidays, free organic staff lunches, and comprehensive training towards OFSTED-recognised Early Years qualification if needed, within an Outstanding-rated team prioritising staff wellbeing and child safeguarding. UK visa sponsorship available for qualified candidates.

Your Responsibilities include:

• Teach Mandarin exclusively through play, activities, and daily interactions (no formal lessons).

• Supervise children, organise Montessori materials, and prepare art activities.

• Record child progress through written observations, weekly diaries, bi-annual reports.

• Assist new children settling in per nursery policies and guidelines.

• Maintain administrative duties supporting language immersion programme.

Work Schedule

Full-time 38 hours per week.

Monday-Friday nursery hours.

Up to 7 weeks paid holidays annually.

• Competent IT skills (Word, email) for observations/reports.

• Self-reflective, open to constructive feedback and improvement.

Requirements

• Fluent spoken and written Mandarin (exclusive use with children required).

• Good level of spoken/written English for parent/administrative communication.

• Understanding of early childhood development and empathy for young learners.

• Willingness to study for OFSTED Early Years qualification if needed.
