Employer: Solve Intelligence – YC-backed AI startup

Position: IT & Security Engineer
Salary: £65,000 – £90,000 base + equity
Job Type: Full-time
Work location: London EC3N, United Kingdom (in-person)

FULL JOB DESCRIPTION

As the founding IT & Security Engineer at Solve Intelligence, you will build and own the IT infrastructure and security systems for one of Europe’s fastest-growing AI companies, scaling from 40 to 200 people while working directly with the CTO. This hands-on role covers device management, compliance programs like ISO 27001 and SOC 2, user onboarding, and customer-facing SSO configuration in a lean, fast-moving startup environment. You will design scalable tooling, documentation, and workflows to replace informal processes, ensuring security and operations support eight-figure ARR growth in enterprise AI deals.

Solve Intelligence seeks a proactive engineer who treats IT as a core engineering function, not just support, collaborating closely with the CTO (Angus) and teams across London, San Francisco, New York, and Munich. Visa sponsorship is available, with significant equity to foster real ownership in this ambitious venture.

Your Responsibilities include:

• Own internal IT operations, including device provisioning and management for a Mac fleet using Jamf, Google Workspace administration, SaaS access, software licensing, and IT asset inventory.

• Manage end-to-end user onboarding and offboarding processes.

• Build security and compliance posture, leading ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type 2 programs, security policies, awareness training, audit processes, and responses to enterprise customer security questionnaires.

• Handle customer-facing SSO setup and configuration (SAML/OIDC), managing technical coordination with client IT/security teams and automating manual processes for enterprise scalability.

• Design repeatable, auditable systems, tooling, documentation, and workflows to support growth from 40 to 200+ employees.

Work Schedule

Full-time, in-person Monday to Friday.

Based in London EC3N office.

You Will Have:

• Hands-on mindset: Comfortable setting up laptops, troubleshooting, and building ahead of problems.

• Preferred: ISO 27001 or SOC 2 Type 2 involvement, enterprise security questionnaires, customer SSO (SAML/OIDC).

• Nice to haves: Sole IT operator experience at startups, identity/access management tooling.

• Smart, driven, fast learner who collaborates with CTO/engineering on decisions and executes quickly.

Compensation

Base salary £65,000 – £90,000 depending on experience, plus significant equity.

Full visa sponsorship available.

Private medical insurance.

Free meals.

Opportunity to own a critical function at a high-growth YC-backed AI startup.

Requirements

• 3–6 years hands-on IT experience in corporate or startup environments.

• Device management experience with Mac fleets (e.g., Jamf) and Google Workspace administration.

• Proven ability to own user onboarding/offboarding and SaaS access management end-to-end.

• Security and compliance awareness with discipline to build repeatable processes.

• Work authorisation in the UK (sponsorship provided).

Work Environment

Lean, exceptionally talented team building ambitious AI products; collaborative with CTO (Angus, ex-Qualcomm/Brevan Howard) and global engineering/go-to-market teams.
