Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting patients and residents within care homes or providing home care services. This position offers an excellent opportunity to make a positive difference in people’s lives by delivering high-quality care and assistance. The role requires strong communication skills, the ability to follow care plans accurately, and a commitment to maintaining dignity and respect for all individuals. A valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate travel between care settings or clients’ homes.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients or residents with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility
- Support the implementation of individualised care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance wellbeing
- Administer basic health checks as directed, including vital signs monitoring
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided using IT systems or paper records
- Ensure the environment is clean, safe, and comfortable for all service users
- Communicate effectively with team members, patients, residents, and their families to ensure seamless care delivery
- Support with medication reminders and basic health needs as required
Experience
- Previous experience working in a care home or providing home care is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
- Familiarity with care plans and basic IT systems for record keeping is advantageous
- Good command of English, both written and spoken, to communicate effectively with colleagues and service users
- Strong communication skills with an empathetic approach towards individuals requiring support
- Valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate transportation between locations or clients’ homes
