FULL JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Home Assistant to support individuals in their daily living activities within a care home or private residence. The successful candidate will provide personalised assistance, promote independence, and ensure a safe and comfortable environment for clients. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives through dedicated home care.
Responsibilities
● Assist clients with daily tasks such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility
● Support the implementation of personalised care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals
● Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
● Help with light household chores, including cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation
● Ensure the safety of clients by monitoring their wellbeing and reporting any concerns promptly
● Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required
● Maintain accurate records of care provided and communicate effectively with team members and family members
● Follow health and safety protocols, including infection control measures
Skills
● Valid driving licence and experience driving safely within the local area
● Experience working in a care home or providing home care services
● Knowledge of care plans and ability to follow them precisely
● Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
● Basic IT skills for maintaining records and updating care documentation
● Compassionate nature with strong interpersonal skills
● Ability to work independently and as part of a team
● Organised, reliable, and attentive to detail
