FULL JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a motivated, responsible pharmacist to join our independent community pharmacy at the heart of Baxenden.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a pharmacist who enjoys clinical services, leading a strong team, and building long-term relationships with patients and local surgeries — without the pressure of a high-volume multiple.

Working Pattern

• 4.5 days per week
• Paid lunch break
• No Weekends
• Full-time role
• Initial 12-month contract, with a clear option to extend and develop long-term

Salary & Package

• £45,045 per annum
• Negotiable depending on experience, skill set, and service delivery

The Pharmacy

• Independent, community-focused pharmacy
• Around 5,000 items per month
• Small, close-knit patient base
• Strong emphasis on quality care over volume
• Supportive, experienced dispensing and support staff in place

This is a pharmacy where you can practice properly, not just firefight.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the Responsible Pharmacist, ensuring safe and effective running of the pharmacy
• Clinical checking and professional oversight of dispensing activities
• Lead and support a skilled, experienced team
• Deliver and develop NHS and advanced services
• Build strong relationships with patients, GP surgeries, and the local community
• Ensure compliance with GPhC, NHS and SOP requirements
• Support and encourage service growth while maintaining excellent patient care

Clinical & Service Focus

We are particularly keen on pharmacists who are confident and proactive in delivering:

• Pharmacy First consultations
• ABPMs
• NMS
• Repeat dispensing and EPS optimisation
• Supporting patients with long-term conditions

You will be supported to hit service targets, but in a realistic, well-resourced environment.
