Job Overview
Compton House are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality care to clients in care homes and home care settings, supporting their daily needs and promoting well-being. Responsibilities
- To assist residents with all aspects of their personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Supporting residents with mobility and transfers, ensuring safety at all times
- To enable residents to be as independent and to lead as full a life as possible, promoting choice, encouraging and facilitating them to take part in activities and the planning of their care
- Helping with meal preparation and feeding, respecting dietary requirements and preferences
- Maintaining accurate records of care provided and updating care plans as necessary
- Providing emotional support and companionship to clients, fostering a respectful and caring environment
- Supporting residents with daily activities and events to promote independence and well-being
- Communicating effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care
- To act as a Key Worker to a number of allocated residents, taking responsibility for building effective working relationship with the client and their family.
Skills
- Previous experience in a care home or home care environment is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided
- Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Ability to use IT systems for record keeping and updating care plans effectively
- Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating empathy, patience, and professionalism
- Driving licence is desirable but not essential
- Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, maintaining clear communication at all times
