FULL JOB DESCRIPTION

 Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated female Care Worker to join our team. This role comes with a skilled worker visa sponsorship if required. The successful candidate will provide essential support to individuals in a home care setting, ensuring their comfort, dignity, and well-being. This role requires a commitment to delivering high-quality care while fostering positive relationships with clients and their families.

Duties

• Administer PEG feeding, including preparation of feeds, maintaining equipment, and monitoring for complications.
• Support individuals with epilepsy.
• Support individuals with oral suctioning needs.
• Assist with personal care (washing, dressing, continence care, mobility) while promoting dignity and independence.
• Monitor, record, and report any changes in the individual’s health and wellbeing.
• Recognise and respond promptly to medical emergencies, including PEG-related complications.
• Support with medication administration in line with training and policies.
• Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals, families, and the wider care team to ensure continuity of care.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date care records, incident reports, and health observations.
• Adhere to infection control, safeguarding, and health & safety policies at all times.
• Participate in regular training, clinical competency checks, and supervision to maintain up-to-date knowledge and skills.

Skills

• Proficient in English, both spoken and written, to facilitate clear communication with clients and colleagues.
• Strong IT skills for maintaining records and using care management software.
• Excellent communication skills to build rapport with clients and effectively convey information.
• Experience in a home care setting.
• Ability to follow care plans meticulously while being adaptable to the changing needs of clients.

Essential Requirements

• Previous experience in complex care, healthcare assistant, or support work.
• Training in PEG feeding, oral suctioning and epilepsy.
• Experience in moving and assisting individuals with complex care needs.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, infection control, and health & safety practices.
• Enhanced DBS clearance.

Education:

• GCSE or equivalent (required)

Experience:

• seizure management: 2 years (required)
• caring for children and young adults: 1 year (required)
• Administration or care coordination: 2 years (preferred)
• complex care: 1 year (required)
• PEG feeding: 1 year (required)
• oral suctioning: 1 year (required)

Licence/Certification:

• Driving Licence (UK) (required)
• Level 4 or 5 Health and Social Care diploma (preferred)
• Level 3 Health and Social Care diploma (preferred)
