Work Pattern: Remote (flexible hours, preferably 10am–1pm) + occasional onsite tasks
Location: Remote/Home-based with visits to The Steam Shop as required
Equipment Provided: Laptop & company phone
About the Role
We are seeking a proactive, organised, and flexible Personal Assistant to support a growing small business owner in managing operations, communications, scheduling, and ad-hoc tasks. This role is varied — you’ll wear many hats, support business workflows remotely, and occasionally perform errands or onsite duties at The Steam Shop (e.g., driving, pickups, in-person coordination).
The ideal candidate thrives in dynamic environments, handles multiple priorities with calm and clarity, and communicates effectively both virtually and face-to-face.
Responsibilities
Administrative & Communication Support
- Manage email inboxes, calendars, and scheduling
- Draft/format professional correspondence and documents
- Prioritise and summarise key tasks daily
- Handle phone calls, texts, and messages professionally
Business Operations Assistance
- Support operational workflows for The Steam Shop
- Coordinate with staff, hotels, vendors, drivers
- Update internal systems (notes, task trackers, CRM tools)
- Troubleshoot issues and resolve small problems independently
Project & Task Management
- Track progress of ongoing tasks and deadlines
- Prepare briefing notes/report summaries
- Help maintain SOPs, trackers, and documentation
Marketing & Reporting Assistance
- Compile analytics or campaign summaries
- Upload content or assist with social scheduling tools
- Prepare clean weekly performance reports
Onsite & Ad-Hoc Support
- Attend occasional onsite requests at The Steam Shop
- Perform errands as required (must have a drivers license/car)
- Assist with small operational fixes
Communication & Liaison
- Act as first contact for customers and internal staff
- Escalate issues with context and proposed solutions
- Support hospitality partner communications
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Excellent communication skills (written & verbal)
- Very strong organisational ability
- Comfortable with prioritising and multitasking
- Competent with email, calendars, Google Workspace/Docs, and AI
- Reliable, trustworthy, good judgment, positive attitude
Desirable
- Experience as an assistant, coordinator, or operations support
- Familiarity with CRM or project tracking tools
- Basic social media / marketing support experience
- Driver’s licence + car
Working Pattern
- Part-time: ~10–15 hours/week, ideally 10am–1pm (flexible)
- Mostly remote, with occasional physical presence required
- Laptop & company phone provided
