Summary
We are seeking a skilled Automotive Mechanic to join our workshop team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing vehicles, and MOT Failures and advisories. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical background and a passion for vehicle repair. We need someone take pride in technical precision and getting the job done
Visa Sponsorship: We are fully authorized to sponsor qualified applicants for a Skilled Worker Visa. This is open to candidates switching from a Graduate Visa, switching employers within the UK, or applying from overseas (subject to meeting UKVI criteria).
Accommodation: Temporary live-in accommodation is available (suitable for a couple) to help you settle in.
Responsibilities
Diagnosis & Major Mechanical Repairs
- Non-Runners & MOT Failures: Lead the diagnosis and repair of vehicles and rectify all MOT failure points and advisories to DVSA standards.
- Engine & Drivetrain: Perform clutch and gearbox repairs, injector and fuel system troubleshooting, and full engine diagnosis (including rebuilds where required).
- Critical Systems: Execute cambelt and timing chain replacements, as well as comprehensive brake, suspension, and steering repairs.
Servicing & Workshop Standards
- Vehicle Prep: Carry out routine servicing (oil/filters) and general mechanical health checks to prepare vehicles for sale.
- Compliance: Ensure all work meets safety requirements and manufacturer specifications.
- Workshop Management: Maintain a safe, tidy workspace, keep accurate job records, and ensure diagnostic tools and equipment are well-maintained.
Requirements
Experience & Education:
- Experience: Minimum 7 years of proven experience in Automotive Repair and Service (Required).
- Diagnostics: Minimum 5-7 years experience with Automotive Diagnostics and Auto-Electrics (Preferred).
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Automotive Technology/Mechanical courses OR NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) is highly desirable.
