Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential assistance to individuals in need, ensuring their well-being and enhancing their quality of life. This role involves working closely with clients, offering support in various aspects of daily living, including personal care, companionship, and emotional support. A strong commitment to promoting independence and dignity for those we serve is essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
• Support clients with daily activities such as meal preparation, medication management, and household tasks.
• Offer companionship and emotional support to enhance clients’ mental well-being.
• Assist with behaviour management strategies for clients with specific needs.
• Maintain accurate records of client progress and report any changes in condition to the appropriate professionals.
• Support clients to appointments or social activities as required.
• Ensure a safe and clean environment for clients by following health and safety protocols.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care tailored to individual needs.

Qualifications

• Previous minimum 1 year experience in supported living, home care or patient care.
• NVQ Level 2/3.
• Knowledge of first aid procedures is preferred.
• Familiarity with hospice care or senior care practices is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients.
• A valid driving licence is desirable but not essential.
• Ability to demonstrate patience and empathy in challenging situations.
• Relevant qualifications in health and social care are beneficial but not mandatory.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and training in behaviour management techniques.
