FULL JOB DESCRIPTION

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Senior Support Worker to provide compassionate care and assistance within a residential assessment centre, specialising in parental assessments. The ideal candidate will be committed to assisting the manager and social workers in carrying out effective assessment. This role offers an opportunity to develop leadership skills whilst delivering essential care services in a supportive team setting.

Duties

• . Observation and report writing
• . Carrying out necessary sessions
• . Assisting management in chairing meetings where requested.
• . Liaising with other professionals and LAs where necessary
• . Any other related duties depending on business needs.
• Support residents in participating in social activities and recreational programmes tailored to their individual needs
• Prepare and update plans.
• Supervise and mentor junior staff members, fostering a positive and professional environment
• Maintain accurate records of care provided, adhering to organisational policies and procedures
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and professionals.

Experience

• Previous experience working in a residential assessment centre is highly desirable
• Supervising or leadership experience within a social care context is advantageous
• Familiarity with developing and implementing care plans tailored to individual needs
• Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Proficiency in using IT systems for record keeping and reporting purposes
• Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and relevant health & safety regulations
