Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute hospital provider in the Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System (ICS), which is a system of health and care partners working together for our local population.

Within Mid and South Essex there are 149 GP practices, operating from over 200 sites, forming 27 Primary Care Networks and one Ambulance Trust. There are also three main community and mental health service providers who work together through a community collaborative.

We collaborate with other valuable partners, including three Healthwatch organisations, nine voluntary and community sector organisations and three top tier local authorities, with seven district, borough and city councils, as well as our local universities.

We are looking for dynamic individuals to join our Health Records team. 

You will be responsible for providing patient records in a timely manner to wards and clinics for consultations.  You should have a proven track record in handling health records and an ability to work to deadlines.

Main duties of the job

The purpose of this role is to provide an effective Healthcare Records service for Mid Essex Hospital in accordance with agreed policies and procedures with direct/indirect supervision of the Health Records Team Leader.

The Health Records Centre cover a variety of functions and the aim of the department is to ensure that Health Records folders are promptly available for all ongoing patient care.

  • To work as an active member of the Health Records team in providing efficient support to the heath records service for the trust.
  • Ensure Healthcare Records are available and prepared for outpatient clinics and all inpatients and other ad-hoc requests are made available to the requester within agreed timescales and deadlines, both clinical and non-clinical.
  • Have an understanding of the consequences when records are not available and be able to deal with occasional exposure to stressful situations.
