Relief Care Worker
Remuneration: £12.77 – £12.99 per hour

Our Very Sheltered Services are Development-based and provide enhanced provision to support adults with varying needs including physically disabled, learning disabilities, older adults and vulnerable adults in their own homes to live as independently as they are able with a responsive service adapting to their housing support plans.
About You
Essential
- Be able to be registered as a support worker in an adult social care service with SSSC within 6 months of beginning the role (see desirable SVQ2)
- Awareness of person-centred care
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills
- Basic IT skills
- Good communication skills
- Good team working
- Physical demand, physical fitness for moving and handling
- Hours are flexible covering early and late shifts 365 days per year
- Some travel may be required for training and to provide essential cover
Desirable
- SVQ 2 or SVQ 3 in health and social care
- Medication units in SVQ
- REHIS elementary level
- Demonstrable experience of working with people in a care environment
- Awareness of dementia

Main Responsibilities
You will be working as part of a team to ensure that services are delivered flexibly, innovatively and in a dignified, safe and stimulating way.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide care services to residents, while working to SSSC codes of practice and Health and Social Care Standards
- Undertake all training and eLearning relevant to the care role.
- Develop good working professional relationships with residents and families to meet their needs.
- Assist in care planning for residents to achieve positive outcomes.
- Provide and maintain manual and electronic records to required standards.
