Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will have experience in various care settings, including nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and home care environments. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care, with a focus on enhancing the quality of life for seniors and individuals with disabilities.

Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
- Administer medication as prescribed and monitor client health
- Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary requirements
- Implement care plans tailored to individual needs
- Assist with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary
- Maintain accurate records of client progress and behaviour management
- Support clients with Alzheimer’s and dementia care, ensuring their safety and comfort
- Drive clients to appointments or social activities as needed
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals for case management and patient care
Skills
- Proficient in first aid and CPR techniques
- Experience in nursing home or care home settings preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to caregiving
- Familiarity with hospice care principles is an advantage
- Strong understanding of senior care practices, including medication administration
- Ability to prepare meals that meet specific dietary needs
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients and families
- Compassionate approach towards caregiving, demonstrating patience and empathy
- Capability to manage challenging behaviours in a respectful manner
