Provider Assurance Officer

Overview

As part of the International Recruitment Programme, the Project Officer will play a critical role in the assurance process to determine the eligibility of adult social care providers seeking to employ so-called ‘displaced overseas care workers’*.

This process ensures that participating care providers meet established standards of compliance, quality, and ethical recruitment practices.

This project is being delivered by Hampshire Care Association on behalf of the SESCA (South East Social Care Alliance) International Recruitment programme.

Displaced overseas care workers are people living in our region who may have lost their sponsorship and are looking for a new job in social care.

Purpose

To take care providers through an assurance process.

Once a provider has applied to the programme, you will undertake initial checks and invite them to an online assurance meeting where you will gather the necessary information. You must attend a weekly meeting with the Assurance Panel to present provider applications for consideration and highlight any areas of concern.

Role Attributes

  • This role reports to the Hampshire Hub Coordinator.
  • £25-27 per hour freelance, outside IR35.
  • Work will fluctuate with provider applications, but is estimated to be 22-28 hours per week
  • Work can be flexible, but the applicant should be available at least 4 days each week to keep on top of emails and provider enquiries.

Key tasks

  • Follow the relevant project processes:
  • Monitor enquiries and applications on a weekly basis.
  • Contact all interested providers and answer any questions they may have.
  • Process applications relevant to the Hampshire hub.
  • Carry out initial checks.
  • Schedule weekly assurance interviews with care providers, involving others where needed.
  • Complete assurance interviews.
  • Attend weekly Assurance Panel meeting and present applications for review.
  • Update providers on the outcome of their application.
  • Support providers with requests to the Home Office for Certificates of Sponsorship, or to report failure to recruit through their local care association, when required.
  • Assist workers by helping to fast-track their visa applications, when required.
  • Ensure that any concerns relating to practice or compliance which may place a worker or service user at risk are promptly reported through the project’s reporting pathway.
