Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Warehouse Assistant to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse by assisting with materials handling, stock management, and shipping and receiving processes. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with warehouse experience to develop their skills within a supportive environment. The role involves physical tasks such as heavy lifting and load/unload activities, requiring attention to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Handle materials efficiently, including picking, packing, and stocking items to meet order requirements.
• Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely and effectively, subject to certification.
• Manage shipping and receiving activities, ensuring accurate documentation and timely dispatch of goods.
• Utilise warehouse management systems to track inventory levels, update records, and maintain organisation.
• Conduct quality control checks to ensure products meet company standards before dispatch.
• Assist with the loading and unloading of lorries, ensuring safe handling of goods.
• Maintain a clean and organised warehouse environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
• Support stock replenishment activities and assist in organising storage areas for optimal efficiency.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a warehouse environment is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for specific equipment use.
• Knowledge of materials handling techniques and mechanical systems is advantageous.
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is desirable.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in stock management and documentation.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Physical fitness to handle demanding tasks throughout the shift duration.
• Valid certification for forklift operation is a plus but not mandatory; training can be provided if necessary.
