FULL JOB DESCRIPTION

Radis Community Care is seeking compassionate Support Workers to join the team at Willowmere Extra Care Service in Middlewich, primarily supporting elderly residents facing physical frailty to maintain their independence and quality of life. You will assist with daily mobility needs, such as helping residents move between dining areas, communal spaces for social activities, and their private bedrooms, while promoting dignity, choice and respect through person-centred care. This fulfilling role also involves delivering personal care like washing, hygiene and dressing, alongside facilitating recreational and social activities to support both physical and mental wellbeing, individually or in groups.

Your Responsibilities include:

• Assisting elderly residents with restricted mobility to navigate safely between bedrooms, dining areas, communal spaces and activity zones as requested.
• Providing hands-on personal care support, including washing, dressing, personal hygiene and other daily living tasks to uphold high standards of comfort and dignity.
• Engaging residents in physical and mental stimulation through one-to-one or group recreational and social activities, tailored to their abilities and preferences.
• Promoting independence, choice, dignity and respect by delivering personalised care that empowers residents to live as fully as possible.
• Observing and reporting any changes in residents’ health, wellbeing or needs to ensure timely support and intervention.
• Collaborating with the care team to maintain a safe, welcoming environment that fosters social interaction and community.

Work Schedule

Shifts operate Monday to Friday and alternate weekends

with patterns including 7:00am – 3:00pm and 3:00pm – 10:00pm

You Will Have

• A compassionate, patient approach with strong interpersonal skills to build trust and rapport with elderly residents.
• Practical ability to assist with personal care and mobility support while respecting individual dignity and independence.
• Enthusiasm for facilitating social and recreational activities to enhance residents’ physical and mental wellbeing.
• Reliability and adaptability to work shifts including evenings and alternate weekends in a team environment.

Requirements

• No prior qualifications required – full training provided, including Care Certificate, Dementia, End of Life and other courses.
• Commitment to safeguarding, with the ability to deliver person-centred care to elderly residents with physical frailty.
• Flexibility for shift work (early mornings, late evenings, alternate weekends).
• Right to work in the UK and willingness to complete mandatory training and refreshers (fully funded).
• Desirable:
• Previous experience in care, support work or working with elderly/frail individuals.
• Basic understanding of personal care needs and promoting independence.
