FULL JOB DESCRIPTION

Keys Group is one of the UK’s largest providers of residential childcare, with over 84% of services rated ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’, and is seeking dedicated Residential Support Workers for their children’s home in Stone, Staffordshire. You will work alongside a passionate team to create a kind, caring and fun living environment for children and young people aged 8-18 who face emotional and behavioural difficulties, helping them overcome challenges through consistent, resilient support. Your Responsibilities include:

• Providing hands-on care and support to children and young people with emotional and behavioural challenges, helping them build positive routines, relationships and coping skills in a residential setting.
• Working shift patterns including long days and sleep-ins to ensure 24/7 coverage, responding calmly and effectively to individual needs and any arising challenges.
• Collaborating with managers and team members to develop and implement personalised care plans, promoting each young person’s wellbeing, independence and progress.
• Creating a safe, nurturing home environment that encourages fun activities, education and personal growth despite complex behaviours.
• Maintaining accurate records, participating in team meetings and contributing to the home’s high standards of safeguarding and welfare.
• Supporting young people with daily living tasks, emotional regulation and positive behaviour management in line with company policies.

Work Schedule

You will work a rota-based schedule totalling 39 hours per week, consisting of long day shifts and sleep-ins to provide consistent residential support.

You Will Have

Requirements

• No formal qualifications or prior experience required – full training provided to deliver exceptional care.
• Passion for working with children and young people aged 8-18, with resilience to manage emotional and behavioural challenges.
• Flexibility for shift work including long days (typically 12+ hours) and sleep-ins.
• Eligibility for an enhanced DBS check (fully funded by Keys Group).
• Right to work in the UK, with a commitment to Keys Group’s EPIC values.
• Any background in childcare, social care, youth work or supporting vulnerable young people.
• Military experience (guaranteed interview for service personnel/veterans meeting criteria).
