FULL JOB DESCRIPTION
As an Assistant Support Worker (Duty Worker) with St Mungo’s homelessness charity, you’ll jointly manage daily operations across either Haringey Complex Needs Service or North Camden’s Chichester Road Care Home, providing basic support/advice to clients recently sleeping rough or experiencing long-term homelessness with substance use/mental health challenges, helping develop independence skills/networks/confidence while gaining valuable sector experience—many managers started here.
Your Responsibilities include:
• Jointly manage safe day-to-day project operations with team.
• Provide basic support/advice to clients with complex needs.
• Support homeless/vulnerable adults toward independent living.
• Handle public/client interactions in busy service environment.
Work Schedule
Full-time role at single location.
Haringey N15 Complex Needs OR Kilburn NW6 Care Home.
You Will Have
• Genuine interest helping vulnerable people make life changes.
• Willingness to develop specialist support skills.
• Team player managing complex needs services.
• Empathy with rough sleeping/long-term homelessness challenges.
Requirements
• Experience dealing with public/clients in busy environments.
• Good communication skills essential.
• Personal homelessness experience OR strong empathy required.
