Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Residential Support Worker to provide high-quality care and support within a residential setting. The successful candidate will play a vital role in assisting children and young people, ensuring their safety, well-being, and development. This role offers an opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable individuals while working within a supportive team environment.
Responsibilities
- Deliver personalised care in accordance with individual care plans, promoting independence and social integration.
- Support children and young people with daily activities, meal preparation, and recreational pursuits.
- Foster a safe and nurturing environment by monitoring behaviour and intervening appropriately when necessary.
- Assist with transportation needs by driving children to educational, medical, or recreational appointments.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided, behavioural observations, and any incidents in line with organisational policies.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, families, and external professionals to ensure cohesive support plans.
- Participate in team meetings and ongoing training to enhance skills and knowledge related to childcare and support work.
Experience
- Prior experience working with children or young people in a care or childcare setting is desirable.
- Knowledge of child development principles and experience implementing care plans is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills are essential for engaging effectively with children, families, and team members.
- Basic IT skills for maintaining accurate documentation and reporting are required.
- Valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate transportation responsibilities.
