FULL JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to provide high-quality care and assistance to individuals in various settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, and home care environments. The role involves supporting clients with daily activities, ensuring their safety, and promoting independence. The ideal candidate will have experience in patient care and a genuine desire to improve the wellbeing of others. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives while working within a supportive team. This role has a flexible working hour ( 3 to 4 hours daily).
Duties
● Assist clients with personal care routines
● Support with mobility and transfer activities, including heavy lifting when necessary
● Administer medication in accordance with prescribed instructions and training
● Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs
● Manage behaviour and provide emotional support, especially for clients with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease
● Offer specialised care for hospice or palliative patients, ensuring comfort and dignity
● Drive clients to appointments or outings safely using company vehicle or personal vehicle where applicable
● Maintain accurate records of care provided and any changes in client condition
● Respond promptly to emergencies or urgent needs, including first aid when required
● Engage in activities that promote mental stimulation and social interaction for clients
Qualifications
● Proven experience in assisted living, nursing home, or home care environments
● Relevant certifications such as first aid and medication administration are highly desirable
● Valid driving licence preferred for transportation duties
● Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with clients of all ages
● Compassionate attitude with a strong commitment to providing person-centred care
