FULL JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Caregivers to provide exceptional support and assistance to individuals in a home care setting. The ideal candidate will be committed to enhancing the quality of life for clients through attentive, respectful, and personalised care. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives while caring for them in their home.
We are looking for carers to do the following roles:
- Live in care – 3/4 days in a row each week. Live in care will always entail 11 hour days with breaks.
- Back up carers – to fill in when main carers are sick etc
- Double up carers – work along side main live in carers – 8 hours per day
Duties
- Provide comprehensive patient care, including assistance with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility.
- Support with medication administration following prescribed protocols.
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding for residents or clients as needed.
- Manage behaviour and implement care plans for individuals with whom need care due to being elderly or physically disabled.
- Support with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Accompany clients to appointments, outings, or errands safely and responsibly.
- Monitor health status and report any concerns to healthcare professionals promptly.
- Offer emotional support and companionship to promote mental well-being.
- Assist with specialised care such as hospice or palliative support when required.
Experience
- Previous experience in assisted living, nursing home, or home care environments is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of patient care techniques such as palliative care and hospice care.
- Certification in first aid.
- Experience with medication administration and behaviour management is preferred.
- Familiarity with heavy lifting procedures and safe handling techniques.
- Know how to handle hoist including a full body hoist or willing to take training.
- Know how to use a Cough assist machine or willing to take training.
- Know how to use NIV machine or willing to take training.
- Valid driving licence is beneficial for roles involving transportation of clients. Not essential.
