Recruiting for a support worker for a young person

We are recruiting for the position of a female support worker who wants to make a difference to young person’s life who has complex health care needs cerebral palsy – has limited communication skills, needs full transfers

Requires support with personal care tasks completing activities and accessing the community. You will work as part of a team of staff who are supportive and caring.

you will work weekends and weekdays after school from 2-8pm

also over night 10-pm to 8am waking and sleeping

Hours are flexible meet the needs the child And the staff member

The position is working in the persons home supporting them with personal care, prompting and guiding, and implementing the therapy plan,

You will take the child out in her mobility car and in her wheelchair to access community facilities

Ideally we would prefer you to be a car driver but not essential

Benefits:

Competitive hourly rate of £14.00- 15.50 dependent on experience and qualification in physical and cognitive needs- candidates must be prepared to work weekends/ after 2pm-8pm and 8.30pm to 8..30am nights – on a rota

Sleeping on occasions

5.6 weeks annual leave pro rata

Responsibilities:

• The role is to support a young female in the family’s own home ; with the aim to support the YP to be as independent as possible.
• You will support with all aspects feeding changing pads, washing dressing skin management – epilepsy , management of medication, admin and recording information accurately
• Your role is to follow care plans to support the client to improve their physical, cognitive and emotional wellbeing with the aim of reducing social isolation and integration
• Deliver personal care ) to the client promoting dignity and respect throughout
• Support the client to attend appointments, leisure sessions
• Work in alignment with a support team to provide the highest quality of care experience

Requirements:

• Essential to have previous experience in supporting children and young people who have physical and cognitive
• Essential to have a qualification in level 2 and above in health and social care
• Applicants must have the right to live and work in the UK

Job Types: 30 hours with opportunity to work extra shifts- working weekends and week days after school and in school holidays.

Hours – are flexible but we need someone on a Monday to Friday from 2pm -8pm and weekends to take out to the community

plus in school holidays the hours will increase to support in the day and evening

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Manchester M30 0AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Education:

• GCSE or equivalent (preferred)

Experience:

• Children’s support worker: 2 years (required)
• Senior care: 2 years (required)

Licence/Certification:

• do you have a right to work in uk (required)
• NVQ Level 2 Health & Social Care (required)

Work authorisation:

• United Kingdom (required)
