We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Trainee IT Support Assistant to join our growing IT team. After training you will be the first point of contact for IT support, providing friendly, efficient on-site and remote assistance to colleagues across the business. Working closely with the IT Helpdesk Technician and reporting to the IT Operations Manager, you’ll gain exposure to a wide range of technologies while developing valuable technical and customer service skills.

Salary: Up to £28,000 based on hours per week
Hours: Flexible – 8 or 9 hours per day
Your Key Responsibilities
- Act as the main point of contact for the IT Helpdesk
- Provide first-line IT support on-site, by phone, and remotely
- Create and manage user accounts, including VPN access
- Carry out monthly server checks and log any issues
- Monitor backups and raise tickets for any failed backups
- Support IT asset audits and ensure records are accurate
- Maintain stock control of IT equipment, logging returned devices
- Set up equipment for new starters and manage leaver processes
- Keep all IT documentation up to date and create new procedures where required
- Assist with hardware deployments and asset management
- Follow setup guides and contribute to standard operating procedures
What We’re Looking For
- Basic experience of helpdesk support in an office environment (beneficial but not essential)
- A fundamental understanding of Windows Server (2016+), Active Directory, and DHCP
- Confidence in supporting Windows 10 & 11
- Familiarity with PC and Mac hardware troubleshooting
- Competent in Microsoft Office and supporting end users
- Ability to follow setup guides and technical instructions
- Strong communication skills with a customer-focused approach
- HNC in a relevant subject or 1 years’ experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential
