The Role

We are looking for an NMC-registered Mental Health Nurse to join our dynamic team. This combined role delivers safe, high quality nursing care in a residential setting whilst embedding Open Dialogue (OD) relational practice and blends traditional clinical nursing responsibilities with relational, network-based work. You will be a key member of a supportive multidisciplinary team, helping individuals on their recovery journey through meaningful relationships and collaborative care.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care to residents in line with professional standards and the home’s policies and procedures.
  • Lead and coordinate clinical care assessments, develop care plans, and administer medication for allocated residents, overseeing nursing support staff and delegating safely.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records, produce reports, and ensure documentation meets legal, regulatory and audit standards.
  • Monitor and escalate clinical deterioration, liaise with GPs, specialist services and other healthcare providers.
  • Ensure safe medicines management and adherence to infection prevention and control standards.
  • Facilitate network meetings with service users, families, and carers using the Open Dialogue approach.
  • Develop and maintain individual care plans in partnership with the people we care for, their families and friends and other professionals involved in their care. Working across health care services in line with shared care protocols.
  • Participate in clinical supervision sessions, appraisals, mandatory training and contribute to a learning-focused environment, supporting staff development and competency assessment.
  • Support and mentor colleagues where appropriate.

About You

  • NMC-registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with a passion for person-centred care, or NMC-registered Learning Disabilities Nurse (RNLD) with a passion for person-centred care.
  • Experienced or keen to develop in relational practice / Open Dialogue methodology.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage confidently with service users, families, and colleagues.
  • Committed to continuous learning and professional development.
  • Current CPR, safeguarding and any service specific mandatory training.
