We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team in Barnsley S71/S73. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to providing high-quality care and support to individuals in need, particularly those with Cerebral palsy or other complex health conditions. This role requires a proactive approach to patient care, ensuring the well-being and comfort of those we serve.

Duties

  • Provide personal care to clients, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Administer complex medication in accordance with care plans and ensure proper documentation of medication administration.
  • Prepare and administer Enteral Feeding via PEG/PEJ
  • Assist clients with mobility, including heavy lifting when necessary, while ensuring their safety and comfort.
  • Engage in behaviour management techniques to support clients with challenging behaviours.
  • Offer companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including nurses, to implement care plans effectively.

Shift patterns

Required pattern flexibilit:

Mon-Thur

-7am-7pm – Day shifts

– 8pm- 8am – Night shifts

Fri-Sun

7am-7pm – Day shifts

7pm-7am- Night Shifts

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a similar role within a nursing healthcare setting is Required.
  • Knowledge of complex care is highly desirable.
  • Ability to manage medication administration accurately and responsibly.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members.
  • A caring attitude towards patients and a commitment to enhancing their well-being.
  • Flexibility in working hours may be necessary to meet client needs.
  • Training is provided – Required to attend Sheffield
