12-Month Industrial Placement: Metallurgy & Inspection Engineering
Duration: 12 months (Flexible start – ideally aligned with university placement schedules)
For: Undergraduate students (Sandwich Year / Industrial Placement)

What You’ll Do
- Work with engineers and researchers to develop high-speed inspection techniques for hardened rivets.
- Explore and implement non-destructive testing (NDT) and automated inspection methods.
- Support heat treatment validation and metallurgical analysis of alloy components.
- Collect and analyze data to drive process improvements and ensure product quality.
Who We’re Looking For
- A student studying Metallurgy, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Someone with a keen interest in heat treatment, metallurgical testing, and quality control.
- Familiarity with NDT methods (e.g., hardness testing, eddy current, ultrasonic) is a bonus.
- A team player with strong analytical and communication skills.
