We are seeking compassionate, dedicated, and reliable Care Assistants to join our friendly team in Birmingham. B10 – Supporting a 5 week old male with a severe skin condition (Epidermolysis Bullosa), who has an advanced care plan in place. Frequent dressing changes are required to prevent blisters and infections. Medication administration is required. This client requires special feeding due to blisters in his oral cavity. Duties include: changing dressings, fluid and nutritional needs, pain management. We are looking for staff that can start as soon as possible.

The following Vaccinations are Mandatory for this role:

  • BCG (TB Vaccine)
  • Diptheria
  • Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib)
  • Flu Jab
  • Hep B
  • 2 doses MMR
  • Pertussis
  • Polio
  • Tetanus
  • Varicella/ Shingles

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and toileting.
  • Support with mobility, repositioning and safe transfers.
  • Help with daily living activities such as meal preparation, shopping, and light housekeeping.
  • Build positive relationships with service users, encouraging their independence and dignity. Also providing emotional support and companionship.
  • Monitor and report on changes in health and well-being to senior staff.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A compassionate nature and genuine desire to help others.
  • A minimum of 6 months care experience is essential. Previous experience with complex wound care/management is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
  • A full Enhanced DBS check will be required for all successful candidates.
