FULL JOB DESCRIPTION
Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals within their own homes, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. As a Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for those you care for, assisting them with daily activities, and promoting their independence.
Duties
- Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Support individuals in daily living activities, including meal preparation and medication management.
- Help implement care plans tailored to each client’s specific needs and preferences.
- Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide emotional support.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in clients’ conditions to the appropriate personnel.
- Ensure a clean and safe environment for clients by adhering to health and safety regulations.
Experience
- Previous experience in home care or within a care home setting is preferred but not essential.
- Strong communication skills in English are necessary for effective interaction with clients and team members.
- Basic IT skills are advantageous for maintaining records and communicating within the team.
- A willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges is essential for success in this role.

We offer a fully funded day of face-to-face training which will provide you with certification in: Manual Handling, Basic Life support, Catheter and Stoma care, and many more.

An average of 5-10 minutes drive between clients, with traveling kept to a minimum. Our experienced management team has developed a system to keep driving to a minimum.
Paid mileage
We currently offer three rates of pay:
- £12.21ph with a 15p per mile – For Full UK License holders with business insurance
- £12.50ph – For drivers without the above
- £12.21ph – For nondrivers
Our recruitment process:
- Attend either a virtual or in-person view at our Stafford Office
- Complete an onboarding pack and supply us with your right-to-work documents
- Attend our fully funded training day
- Attend our Stafford office for induction, issue of PPE and uniform, and be assigned your shadow shifts
- Commence your long-term employment with GLC!
A driver’s license and a car are required for this role due to the nature of the business.
