Emanuel Care | Colchester and surrounding areas
Make a difference close to home. Join a team where you are valued, respected and supported.
At Emanuel Care, we help people live comfortably and safely in their own homes, with dignity, independence and choice.
We are looking for caring, reliable and compassionate people to join our team. You will support older people and adults who need help with everyday life, building relationships and making a difference through both practical care and the time you take to listen.
Whether you have experience in care or are starting a new career, we would love to hear from you. If you bring kindness, a willingness to learn and a commitment to treating people well, we will provide the training and support to help you succeed.
Why join Emanuel Care?
We care about the wellbeing of our team as much as the people we support. We work to create a positive environment where you can ask questions, share concerns and feel heard. Our open-door approach means you can speak directly with management and know that your concerns will be taken seriously.
We offer:
- Consistent working hours: Fixed hours to help you plan your work and home life.
- Time to provide thoughtful care: Visits planned around each person’s needs, with travel time considered and paid.
- Local work: Most visits are within Colchester and the surrounding area, helping to minimise travel.
- Paid mileage allowance: We pay a mileage allowance for travel between care visits when you use your own vehicle.
- A supported start: Paid training, shadowing and supervised visits to help you get to know the people you will support and feel confident in your role.
- Ongoing support: Access to on-call support when you need advice or assistance.
- Recognition for your work: Competitive pay, bonuses and appreciation for the contribution you make.
- Paid DBS check: An enhanced DBS check arranged and paid for by Emanuel Care.
What will you do?
You will visit people in their own homes and provide care in line with their individual care plans, preferences and routines. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting personal care, including washing, dressing and using the toilet, while maintaining dignity and privacy.
- Preparing meals, snacks and drinks, and supporting eating and drinking where needed.
- Supporting people with medication in line with their care plan, your training and Emanuel Care’s procedures.
- Helping with everyday household tasks, such as light cleaning and laundry.
- Providing companionship, reassurance and emotional support.
- Encouraging people to do the things they can for themselves and supporting their choices.
- Assisting with mobility and transfers where required, using the agreed equipment and techniques following training.
- Keeping clear, accurate records of the care provided.
- Recognising and promptly reporting changes in wellbeing, concerns about safety or safeguarding concerns.
- Communicating respectfully with the people we support, their families, colleagues and other professionals.
What are we looking for?
You will need:
- A kind, caring and respectful approach.
- Reliability, good timekeeping and a positive attitude.
- A willingness to learn and follow care plans and agreed ways of working.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Respect for confidentiality, dignity and individual choices.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a supportive team.
- A full driving licence valid for driving in the UK.
- Willingness to complete an enhanced DBS check and the training required for the role.
New to care? You are welcome here.
Previous care experience is welcome, but it is not essential. We provide a comprehensive induction, paid training and practical support to help you develop your skills and confidence.
We are proud of the care our team provides every day, and we believe a simple “thank you” matters. At Emanuel Care, your work will be noticed and appreciated.
If you would like to make a difference and join a team that supports you, we would love to hear from you. Apply today.
