Join a Brand-New 1:1 Support Service

We’re opening a brand-new 1:1 support service in Hassocks and are looking for a caring, reliable and enthusiastic Female Support Workers to join our team.

You’ll support a young woman in her early twenties with a mild learning disability and epilepsy, both in her new home and out in the community.

She is cheerful, friendly and sociable, attends college and enjoys spending time with friends, social events, drama, swimming, the gym, cinema and shopping.

This is a rewarding opportunity to build a genuine relationship, promote independence and support someone to enjoy the activities and experiences that are important to them.

The Role

You will:

• Provide person-centred 1:1 support at home and in the community
• Support college, social and leisure activities
• Encourage independence and everyday living skills
• Support with personal care where required
• Provide attentive support in relation to epilepsy and seizures
• Recognise and respond appropriately to changes in wellbeing or emergencies
• Support with medication once trained and authorised
• Complete accurate records and work closely with family and the wider support team

Day Support – 10 or 29 hours per week

Supporting college, community activities and everyday life.

A full UK driving licence is essential for this role, as you will need to be able to support the individuals we support with activities and appointments in the community.

Night Support – 20 or 30 hours per week

Providing attentive overnight support and monitoring to maintain safety and wellbeing.

Driving is not required.

Zero-hours contracts are available for both day and night shifts.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is caring, patient, reliable and calm, with the confidence to work independently and use their initiative.

Essential:

• Experience supporting someone with epilepsy
• Experience promoting independence and daily living skills
• Good communication and record-keeping skills
• Ability to remain calm and respond appropriately in an emergency
• Reliable and committed to providing consistent support

For day roles: Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Desirable: Experience supporting people with learning disabilities, previous 1:1 support experience, or a Health & Social Care qualification.

No formal care qualification? That’s okay. Full training will be provided, including specialist training relevant to the individual you’ll be supporting.
