Hillcrest Futures is recruiting for 2 full-time Support Workers.

About the Service
Situated in the Southside area of Glasgow Queen Mary Avenue is a temporary resettlement service for women who are experiencing homelessness along with other complex needs and issues.
Queen Mary Avenue is a 24/7 service, and shifts are worked on a rotational basis, this includes night shift and day shift over 7 days.
About the Role
The Support Worker role provides one-to-one support, group work support, ad hoc and planned support and work as part of a team on a rotational basis. The service operates a key-working system, and the shifts are 12-hour shifts.
The people supported by the service have significant trauma, behaviours that challenge us, addictions, mental health, history of non-attendance and not keeping to building rules, mental health and psychological trauma, behaviours that are classed as risk taking and potentially. The role includes supporting people in a trauma informed and person-centred way.
Relationships and how we interact and respond to people are key, how we reflect on self, behaviours and reactions to the work we do are key to being able to deliver the support.
The role includes taking part in the service on call rota.
About You
You will:
- Have experience or a good understanding of supporting vulnerable adults who are homeless
- Have personal experience supporting people who have trauma, addiction, mental health and behaviours that are considered challenging.
- Have a willingness to stick with someone through challenges and behaviours
- Have good communication skills
- Have IT skills
- Have the ability to travel to for mandatory training
- Have willingness to take part in group supports and team meetings and service activities, tasks and requirements.
