JOB SUMMARY
Due to the expansion in renal services, we are seeking to recruit a highly motivated band 3 Healthcare Assistant to join our friendly working professional team at West Cornwall Renal Unit.
The successful applicant will assist the renal team in delivering excellent patient care and technical support for patients undergoing hemodialysis.
Previous experience is not required as full training and support will be provided. Applicants must be able to demonstrate a caring attitude, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well with patients and other healthcare professionals within a small team.
Full and part-time hours will be considered.

MAIN DUTIES OF THE JOB
- To contribute to the optimum delivery of care for patients with end-stage renal disease undergoing hemodialysis.
- To have a broad understanding of the complex needs of this group of patients.
- To assist the team in always providing an excellent service by ensuring a sound knowledge of the patient and service requirements.
- Prepare hemodialysis machines and trollies according to individual patient prescriptions.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
- GCSE English & maths or equivalent
- NVQ 2 in healthcare or equivalent
- computer literate
- competent in English language, verbal & written
DESIRABLE
NVQ in direct care
EXPERIENCE
- previous experience in a care setting
- computer literate
- Desirable
- previous experience caring for patients with renal disease
