Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Children’s Residential Support Worker to support children and young people within our 2-bed EBD residential home in Barnsley.

This role offers clear career progression, with opportunities to develop into a Senior Support Worker and management role as the service grows.

Key Responsibilities

• Support children and young people with daily living, independence and emotional wellbeing.
• Follow and implement individual care plans and risk assessments.
• Provide safe, nurturing and child-centred care.
• Support children with activities, appointments, education and community engagement.
• Maintain accurate care records and documentation.
• Follow safeguarding procedures and maintain a safe environment.
• Work effectively with colleagues, families and other professionals.

Essential / Desirable Experience

• Experience working with children or young people in residential care, education or social care is desirable.
• Understanding of safeguarding, trauma, EBD and attachment-informed care.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexible and reliable, including availability for evenings, weekends and sleep-ins.
• Full UK driving licence desirable.
• Enhanced DBS required – we can support the application process.
