ABOUT THE ROLE
This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in generating income that will enable us to expand our impact across Greater Manchester and beyond. With exceptional relationship-building and written communication skills, and proven experience in securing funding, you will work with trusts, grant-makers, corporate partners, and other funders to sustain and grow our essential work.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Grant Applications and Donor Engagement
- Write tailored, compelling applications and project reports that align with funder priorities and requirements.
- Develop a schedule of approaches to new, lapsed, and existing funders, creating engaging proposals to secure support for Connect Talent CIO’s objectives.
- Collaborate with program teams to identify funding needs and gather impact data for proposals and reporting.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with funders, keeping them informed of the impact of their support.
- Deliver regular updates to funders through reports, meetings, and events to ensure continued engagement and support.
Research and Pipeline Development
- Identify and research new funding opportunities, including trusts, corporate foundations, and statutory funders.
- Maintain an up-to-date pipeline of potential funders, ensuring a strategic approach to income generation.
- Engage with funders through proactive communication, leveraging their interests to align with Connect Talent CIO’s projects.
Strategic Fundraising and Reporting
- Develop and implement fundraising strategies to meet annual income targets.
- Work with the Executive team to identify and leverage opportunities for high-value fundraising.
- Monitor sector trends and funding opportunities to ensure Connect Talent CIO remains ahead of the curve.
- Prepare and deliver progress reports to the Head of Fundraising and Trustees, demonstrating impact and return on investment.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of three years experience in a fundraising or similar role, with a proven track record of securing significant funding.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write persuasive proposals and build strong relationships.
- Strong research and analytical skills, with a focus on identifying and securing new funding opportunities.
- Organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
