Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to residents in a care home or home care setting. This position requires effective communication skills, the ability to follow care plans, and a commitment to enhancing the well-being of individuals under your care. A valid driving licence is preferred, as it may be necessary for transporting clients.
Duties
- Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility.
- Follow individual care plans to ensure personalised support for each resident.
- Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and other healthcare professionals to provide updates on care and wellbeing.
- Support residents in engaging in social and recreational activities to promote mental and emotional health.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in residents’ conditions to the appropriate personnel.
- Ensure a clean and safe environment for all residents by adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Utilise IT systems for documentation and communication purposes as required.
Experience
- Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is advantageous but not essential.
- Strong communication skills in English are required to interact with residents and colleagues effectively.
- A willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges within the caregiving environment is essential.
- A valid driving licence is preferred for roles that may involve transporting clients or running errands.
