About Us:

Midland’s Support Services works in partnership with accommodation providers across Leicester to deliver high-quality support to vulnerable adults. We work with individuals facing homelessness, addiction, mental health challenges, and other complex needs, helping them stabilise and work towards independent living.

Role Overview:

We are looking for compassionate and reliable Support Workers to join our team. You will work directly with vulnerable adults in supported housing settings, providing practical and emotional support to help them manage daily life, access key services, and move towards greater independence and stability.

This role is suited to someone who is calm under pressure, empathetic, and confident dealing with individuals who may present challenging behaviours or have complex needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide person-centred support to vulnerable adults
  • Offer emotional support and build trusting, professional relationships
  • Support with accessing services and attending appointments (e.g. GPs, benefits, mental health teams)
  • Assist with benefit applications and other essential paperwork
  • Accompany residents to professional meetings when needed
  • Signpost to relevant community resources
  • Carry out basic cleaning tasks to maintain hygiene and safety in communal areas
  • Encourage healthy routines, personal responsibility, and life skills
  • Monitor and report safeguarding concerns
  • Keep accurate records and communicate clearly with the wider team

Requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Experience supporting vulnerable adults (e.g. homelessness, substance misuse, mental health) is desirable
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
  • Must be flexible and available for evenings, weekends, and bank holidays
  • Right to work in the UK

Hours:

  • Part-time and full-time roles available
  • Includes evenings, weekends, and bank holidays on a rota basis
  • £12.21 – £15.00 per hour (dependent on experience)

Desirable but not essential:

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent)
  • Training in safeguarding, de-escalation, or trauma-informed care
  • Full UK driving licence and access to own transport
