Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential assistance to individuals in need of care, ensuring their comfort and well-being in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and home care environments. This role is vital in promoting independence and enhancing the quality of life for our clients, particularly seniors and those with specific health needs.

Duties

• Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and meal preparation.
• Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects or changes in condition.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
• Help with mobility and transportation needs, including driving clients to appointments or social activities.
• Maintain accurate records of client care and report any significant changes to the nursing staff or family members.
• Support clients with dementia care by employing appropriate techniques to enhance communication and understanding.
• Ensure a safe living environment by adhering to health and safety protocols, including first aid practices when necessary.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care tailored to each client’s needs.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in assisted living, home care, or hospice care is preferred but not essential.
• Knowledge of medication administration protocols and first aid certification is advantageous.
• A background in nursing or senior care will be considered a strong asset.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others are crucial traits for this role.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
• A valid driving licence is required for transporting clients as needed..
