FULL JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential assistance to individuals in need, ensuring their comfort and well-being in various settings, including assisted living, hospice care, and home care. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and mobility support.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients.
- Monitor and report any changes in clients’ health or behaviour to appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Administer basic first aid as needed and ensure a safe environment for clients.
- Collaborate with families and other caregivers to develop personalised care plans.
- Maintain accurate records of client progress and care provided.
- Engage clients in recreational activities to promote mental and physical well-being.
Requirements
- Previous experience in patient care or a related field is preferred, particularly in assisted living, hospice care, or senior care settings.
- Certification in First Aid is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing client needs and schedules.
- A background in childcare or nursing home environments is an advantage.
