FULL JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. This role involves delivering high-quality care and support to individuals in care homes and in their own homes, with a strong emphasis on enhancing independence, dignity, and overall quality of life.
Responsibilities
- Administer prescribed medication safely, monitoring for side effects or changes.
- Provide personalised dementia care using appropriate techniques.
- Assist with personal care tasks: bathing, dressing, grooming, and hygiene.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary requirements and preferences.
- Promote mental wellbeing by facilitating and participating in social activities.
- Maintain accurate documentation and communicate with healthcare professionals.
- Safely perform lifting and mobility support for transfers and positioning.
- Deliver first aid when required and maintain a safe care environment.
- Use appropriate medical terminology in reporting and professional communication.
- Transport service users to appointments and activities, ensuring comfort and safety.
- Hold a valid UK driving license and access to a personal vehicle with appropriate insurance for work-related duties.
Experience
- Previous experience in care or a similar role is preferred but not essential; training will be provided.
- Familiarity with medication administration protocols and dementia care practices is advantageous.
- Knowledge of first aid procedures is beneficial.
- A valid driving license is preferred for transporting residents as needed.
