That’s why we’re looking for a skilled and proactive IT Support Specialist to join our IT department and play a key role in ensuring that our systems support staff and students thrive. 

Your role in our journey: 
As an IT Support Specialist, you’ll be responsible for delivering exceptional 1st and 2nd line support, ensuring the smooth running of systems and workstations across all college sites. You’ll also coordinate IT upgrades, support helpdesk operations, mentor junior colleagues, and help shape the ongoing improvement of our IT service. 

What you’ll be doing: 

  • Responding to technical queries via phone, face-to-face, and the HALO helpdesk system 
  • Troubleshooting hardware and software issues with professionalism and precision 
  • Managing and maintaining IT loan stock, classrooms, and workspaces 
  • Supporting hardware/software rollouts and systems administration 
  • Contributing to IT policy development and staff CPD delivery 
  • Playing a key part in events, user onboarding, and wider IT planning 

We’re looking for someone who: 

  • Has at least one year’s experience in an IT helpdesk role 
  • Holds a relevant qualification or has significant hands-on experience 
  • Communicates clearly and provides excellent customer service 
  • Has sound knowledge of Microsoft client, server, cloud, and Office products 
  • Can work independently and know when to escalate appropriately 
  • Has a full, clean UK driving licence (essential for multi-site support)
