FULL JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to individuals in need, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. This role is vital in assisting clients with daily living activities and promoting their independence, particularly for those requiring patient care, dementia care, home care, hospice care, childcare, senior care, and medication administration.
Duties
- Assist clients with personal care tasks including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients.
- Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients’ health conditions.
- Support clients with mobility and physical activities, ensuring their safety at all times.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment within the home or facility.
- Document client progress and report any changes in behaviour or health to the appropriate personnel.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualised care plans.
- Engage clients in social activities and encourage participation in community events.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in patient care, dementia care, home care, hospice care, childcare, or senior care is preferred.
- A background in nursing or relevant healthcare qualifications would be advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a genuine desire to help others.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Patience and empathy towards clients’ needs and challenges.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts as required by client needs.
