FULL JOB DESCRIPTION

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and delivering lessons in Foundation Maths and Computer Science, ensuring they are engaging and tailored to students ability.
• Support students individually and in small groups, helping them overcome learning challenges and gain confidence in core concepts.
• Adapt teaching approaches and materials to accommodate diverse learning needs, including students with EAL (English as an Additional Language) or additional support requirements.
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to lead teachers and/or academic managers.
• Create a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment.
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance lesson delivery and participate in relevant professional development opportunities.
• Contribute to the overall academic and personal development of learners.

Essential Requirements

• Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics and Computer Science, particularly at Key Stage 3/Foundation GCSE level.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain concepts clearly to young learners.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and show initiative when required.
• Commitment to safeguarding, student welfare, and inclusive education.

Desirable

• Previous experience working in a school, college, or tuition setting.
• A degree or recognised qualification in Maths, Computer Science, Education, or a related subject.
• Experience supporting students with SEND or EAL.
• Familiarity with UK exam boards (e.g. AQA, Edexcel) and the Foundation Tier curriculum.
• QTS or PGCE qualification (not essential but advantageous).
