IT customer support professional is responsible for helping users resolve technical issues related to computer systems, software, hardware, and networks.

His key responsibilities include:

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Resolve problems via phone, email, chat, or in person.
  • Provide step-by-step guidance to users.
  • Assist users in understanding and using systems or software.
  • Provide training or create documentation for common tasks.
  • Onboard new users with proper IT tools and instructions.
  • Monitor system performance and availability.
  • Install updates, patches, and software upgrades.
  • Perform routine checks on hardware and software.
  • Log, track, and prioritize support tickets in a helpdesk system.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to higher-level technical staff.
  • Ensure timely resolution of issues and follow-ups.
  • Manage user accounts and permissions.
  • Enforce IT security policies (e.g., password protocols, anti-virus software).
  • Support with backup and data recovery efforts.
  • Maintain a professional and helpful demeanor.
  • Communicate clearly, both technically and in layman’s terms.
  • Strive for user satisfaction and issue prevention.
