About the Information Technology Services Department at Humber:
Humber Digital Innovation, Information Technology Services provides leadership for the continuous development of digital experiences delivered on a secure, flexible, and dependable IT environment built on a foundation of transparency, collaboration, client focus, and respect. Together we transform client ideas into results, leverage technology to enable student engagement and success, support students and employees in the journey of discovery, deliver integrated digital solutions to improve collaboration and communication across the Humber community, and improve business processes to enable better decision-making. Digital Innovation, Information Technology Services is always striving to enhance the digital experience for students, staff, and visitors.

About the Client Services Technician Role

Resolve technical issues, troubleshoot network connectivity issues, troubleshoot equipment faults/failures; escalate to Support Partners, as necessary.

Setup, deploy, and configure End-point (mobile devices/desktop computers) or Audio-Visual technology to support a service request or special events, installation of software on individual computers, in computer labs, and in classrooms.

Responding to technical inquiries, advising on the proper use of technology, demonstrating, and coaching clients on the use of standard software tools, and communicating of standard procedures and policies. Guiding 3rd party support to ensure alignment with Humber’s practices.

Actively and preventatively maintain, and repair equipment (including the swapping of Customer Replaceable Units and consumables) to ensure that all technical assets are operational and available for students, faculty, and staff for learning, teaching, meetings, and events engaging with and monitoring Support Partners, as necessary.

Responding to high-impact requests such as technology faults/failures and/or issues impacting student learning, registration, or executive meetings.

Support the planning of future technical solutions through testing, experimenting, and researching existing, new, and/or changing technology.

Experience/Skills
Three years of experience in a dynamic and fast-paced technical support environment supporting various operating systems, requiring extensive hardware and software troubleshooting/configuration and incident management, preferably in an academic environment.
