Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. This role is crucial in enhancing the quality of life for our clients, ensuring they receive the care and attention necessary to maintain their independence and dignity. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and a genuine desire to help others.
Responsibilities
Assist clients with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
Support clients with mobility and transfers, ensuring their safety at all times.
Help clients with meal preparation and feeding as required.
Maintain accurate care plans and documentation of client progress and needs.
Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
Drive clients to appointments or social activities as needed, providing companionship during outings.
Perform light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe environment for clients.
Monitor clients’ health and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate personnel.
Skills
Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with clients and team members.
Proficiency in IT skills for maintaining electronic care records and documentation.
Previous experience in home care or a care home setting is advantageous but not essential.
Ability to understand and implement care plans tailored to individual client needs.
A valid driving license is preferred for transporting clients when necessary.
Empathy, patience, and a positive attitude toward providing personal care services.
