FULL JOB DESCRIPTION
SPONSORSHIP OFFICER
We are looking for a committed and engaging person to join our small team, who are developing AFFCAD UK during an exciting time of growth to ensure our long-term sustainability.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
You will support our small committed grassroots charity. You will be responsible for securing and managing sponsorships and partnerships, in accordance to AFFCAD UK’s goals. You will develop and implement strategies to attract sponsors, negotiate with the Trustees of networking sponsorship agreements and ensure fulfilment of sponsorship benefits.
This is an important but flexible role in which the volunteer can develop their abilities, whilst working alongside our leadership team and trustees. We are keen to recruit a driven and motivated individual.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identify potential sponsors and partnership opportunities.
- Develop and execute sponsorship strategies to meet revenue targets.
- Create sponsorship proposals and presentations tailored to the needs of potential sponsors.
- Negotiate with assistance and approval of AFFCAD UK sponsorship agreements and contracts in accordance with AFFCAD UK policies and standards.
- Coordinate sponsorship activities and ensure fulfilment of sponsorship benefits.
- Maintain relationships with sponsors and provide excellent customer service.
- Collaborate with marketing and events teams to integrate sponsorships into campaigns and events.
- Track sponsorship revenue and performance metrics.
- Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in sponsorship and partnership management.
- Represent the organisation at networking events and industry conferences to attract sponsors and partners.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are a small team of volunteers and are looking for somebody committed, motivated, who can bring positive energy and ideas to their work. The role is flexible but is all about nurturing relationships and helping to raise awareness about our work.
We would like somebody who enjoys talking to people, coming up with creative ideas and is organized enough to stay on top of emails, updates and upcoming events.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications or related fields.
- Proven experience in sponsorship sales or partnership management.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Excellent organisational and project management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with CRM software and Microsoft Office suite.
- Knowledge of marketing and branding principles.
- Understanding of industry trends and sponsorship landscapes.
- Desire to make a difference!
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in a similar role within a related field.
- Existing network of potential sponsors and industry contacts.
- Experience with fundraising or revenue generation for non-profit organizations (if applicable).
- Advanced degree or certification in Marketing, Business Administration or related fields.
- Aspiration and passion to serve the less fortunate.

You will be part of a team that are raising much-needed funding, enabling AFFCAD UK to continue growing projects. To deliver invaluable work in supporting the people of Bwaise, the largest informal urban settlement in Kampala, Uganda.
Alongside working closely with a wonderful and committed team with a wealth of knowledge, you will be able to expand your own skill set through further learning, directly impacting the lives of those in poverty and perhaps even the chance to visit the projects themselves!
Time commitment:
- Estimated at 2-3 hours a week – this may vary depending on projects/events that are taking place.
- You can split up your time, however best suits you.
A BIT ABOUT US:
AFFCAD UK is a grassroots charity supporting projects focused on youth empowerment, education and health in Bwaise, Uganda. We work in partnership with AFFCAD Uganda to identify needs and deliver relevant programmes in the local community. We are run by a team of part-time volunteers with a full-time love for what we do.
We are a great bunch of people to work alongside; everyone has great enthusiasm for the work that we do and together we pull off ambitious projects, like rebuilding Excel Primary Schools. You will be asked to contribute ideas from the get-go and will see how the work you are doing feeds into our work in Uganda.
